Start well ahead of departure - we recommend freezing it 24 hours before. What's important at the checkpoint is that the pouch is completely frozen.
A completely frozen pouch goes through. If it's slushy or partially melted, it counts as a liquid under TSA's 3-1-1 liquids rule - so keep it in the freezer until you leave.
